POLICY · WHAT SITS BEHIND THE FORM

Privacy policy: what happens to the details you send us

When you ask Tiling Malvern about a job, you trust us with your name, how to reach you and details about your home. This page explains what we collect, why we need it, where it’s kept, and how to ask to see, correct or delete it.

This policy covers tilingmalvern.com.au and enquiries from Malvern and the suburbs we work in nearby.

01 · PURPOSE

We use the details you send through the enquiry form to reply to you and to understand or quote the work you describe.

02 · STORAGE

Enquiries are stored privately within this website. We never sell or rent them, and they’re never added to marketing lists.

03 · CONTROL

You can ask to see, correct or delete what you’ve sent at any time through the contact page.

0 MM · SURFACE

What you send

What we collect, and why

We only collect personal information you choose to give us, plus the limited technical information any website receives when a page loads.

Information you give us

When you send an enquiry, we receive your contact details (your name, email address and phone number), the suburb or location of the job, and whatever you tell us about the work: what it involves, when you’d like it done, any budget you mention and your message. If a quote conversation continues and you choose to send photographs, such as a leaking shower or cracked floor tiles, we handle those the same way.

Please leave out anything the job doesn’t need, such as payment details or identity documents. The site doesn’t take payments and will never ask for them.

Why we collect it

We use your information to read and reply to your enquiry and to understand the job well enough to talk it through or prepare a quote. We may also use it to arrange a time to look at the work if that’s needed, and to keep a reasonable record of what was discussed if the job goes ahead.

We won’t use your details for unrelated marketing or sign you up to a newsletter. If you want to hear from us about something new, you’ll have to ask.

BELOW THE SURFACE

How your information is stored and shared

STORAGE

Where it's kept

Enquiries sent through the website are stored privately in the site’s own system, and only the people running the business can view them. Sending the form doesn’t pass your details to an outside marketing platform or payment service.

RETENTION

How long it's kept

We keep your enquiry for as long as we need it to reply, talk through and quote the job, and to follow up if the work goes ahead. We delete it once it’s no longer needed for those purposes. We’ll also delete it sooner if you ask and there’s no reason to keep it.

SHARING

Who else sees it

We never sell, rent or trade personal information. We only share details when your job needs it, such as with another trade on the same bathroom renovation when you’ve asked us to work with them, or when the law requires it. The company that hosts this website stores its data as part of keeping the site running.

SECURITY

Keeping it secure

We take reasonable steps to protect the information on the site from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No website can be completely secure, though, so please keep anything sensitive that the job doesn’t need out of your message.

TECHNICAL NOTE

Cookies and basic analytics

Like most websites, this site may use cookies, which are small files your browser stores so pages load and work properly. For example, they can keep the enquiry form working or remember basic settings while you browse.

The site may also use basic analytics to see in general terms how its pages are used: which pages people visit, roughly how they arrive and which kinds of device are common. We use this to improve the site, not to identify you.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most of the site will still work, but some features may not behave as expected.

REQUESTS

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask what we hold about you, have anything wrong corrected, or have your enquiry removed. Here’s how it works.

STEP 01

Ask through the contact page

Send a message through the contact form and say it’s a privacy request. Tell us whether you want to see, correct or delete the information you sent.

STEP 02

We confirm it's yours

To make sure your details don’t reach the wrong person, we may ask you to confirm something from your original enquiry, such as the email address or phone number you gave.

STEP 03

We act on it

We’ll show you what we hold, fix anything that’s wrong, or delete it. If we need to keep part of a record, we’ll tell you what we’re keeping and why.

SUBSTRATE · THE PRINCIPLES

Australian privacy expectations

Tiling Malvern is a local trade business, and we follow the ideas behind the Australian Privacy Principles. We collect only what we need, use it for the reason you gave it, keep it secure and let you see and correct it.

Concerns and complaints

If you’re worried about how we’ve handled your information, please raise it with us first through the contact page so we can look into it. If our response doesn’t resolve it, you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the way the site handles enquiries changes. The version on this page is the one that applies.
